I'm so glad I chose FreshBooks instead of QuickBooks. The interface is easy to use and works like my brain does!
I can't customize the chart of accounts.
I've used Acclivity's MYOB for 25 years but when they stopped supporting a local Mac version, the cost of the cloud version was prohibitive for my business. I chose FreshBooks to replace that accounting system. It was a huge leap, one I wish I had taken years ago!
It is an invoicing software that has all the features required to manage both clients and projects at a go. The software create and send business' invoices and also accept online payments.
Although it has all the required features, it does not allow you to view the reports which are crucial to the business
Am using Freshbooks to manage my project's time and track mileage. A time manager which am using in my project and it keep reminding me on the time remaining to make my accomplishments.
In terms of creating and managing financial reports, Freshbooks offers advantages that other accounting software does not, such as being able to track the time spent working on each account, and being able to compare invoices and taxes.
The only problem with Freshbooks is that it lacks tools to work with payment forecasts, so when you need to create a budget of any kind it's difficult to do the math if sales payments cannot be simulated. Freshbooks does not have a refund manager.
Admittedly, Freshbooks is software with a wide range of functions, which can be used for both financial project management and time tracking, whether or not these are to be invoiced. It is excellent in many scenarios.
I’ve been using freshbooks for 7+ years. My favorite part is recurring invoices with numerous payment options and built-in reminders.
Really nothing. I guess the price keeps going up but so it goes...
Most businesses it seems have a person that handles invoices, as in a dedicated staff member. We have 50 recurring clients and it doesn’t require anyone except me to set it and forget it.
Documentation is easily prepared which makes for easy invoicing and management of payments.
I have not found anything that I dislike.
Freshbooks has helped me solve my invoicing and management of payments.
I like the Timesheets and Timer the best as they help me keep track of all my work I will get paid for. The reports are also very handy for when I need to review work I have previously accomplished.
Sometimes the website crashes, but to be fair, what website doesn't.
It solves the problem of having to write my work down on paper and then record it in a manner that my employer can use to pay me. It greatly reduces the chance of me forgetting to record something I should get paid for.
Recurring invoices have saved me a lot of time. I used to spend hours and hours creating and sending invoices. Now I don't even know when they go out. It is easy to use as well. Totally worth the money
There is one thing on recurring invoices I do not like they print that the invoice will happen each month when it won't and customers get nervous. Besides that I love this software.
We are able to invoice more accurately and save time on administrative things.
Assuming you're using the "new" Freshbooks, the interface is modern and intuitive. I find it very easy to use (although I'm a digital native). So far, it has everything I need to track my projects and bill customers for my small communications consulting business. It's great that it allows me to accept online payments from customers without a lot of hassle.
I understand charging a processing fee when someone pays me with a credit card, but I really don't like being charged a 1% fee when someone pays with ACH/e-check. That should be as good as cash and as a small business, giving up 1% of my sales really hurts. I'm paying Freshbooks a monthly subscription fee so it feels wrong for them to get a cut of my cash sales.
Freshbooks allows me to keep track of my clients and different projects I do for them. It's definitely solving the problem of me tracking all income and expenses in an Excel spreadsheet, keeping track of who has paid me and who hasn't, and sending professional looking invoices to my customers with the option for them to instantly pay online.
I like that there is a Time Tracking feature that can be used to create invoices-complete with separate projects, people, and tasks, which makes keeping track of who is doing the task for each client and how much should be charged. I also like the expense tracker and all the reports that can be generated with your data. It's easy to accept many different methods of payment also and that helps with flexibility when billing.
There is really nothing I dislike at this time other than sometimes an invoice may end up in a junk folder when sending it through Freshbooks. For some clients I submit both through the portal and a pdf version via email, so that adds an extra step.
With Freshbooks, it's not necessary to pay a hefty price for Quickbooks, nor do you have to have a special training session to use it. It's perfect for small businesses like my virtual assistant business and what we need for our book keeping responsibilities.
Invoicing, expenses and the reports (which I use for taxes actually)
Bank reconciliation is working not all for me. But that’s not a problem to me.
It’s my only and main accounting solution.
I love how user-friendly the platform is and how easily it integrates with Stripe (actually have to be pretty bad to mess that up, but nonetheless).. I love the customization of the invoices too. It's very easy to keep all of my incomes and expenses organized. I also love how easy it is to build beautiful reports (like an annual p/l report) so quickly.
Now there is the ability to accept payments via ACH so that was one of my dislikes before. I also don't like that I need to reach out to my "account rep" (or whatever) in order to make any changes to my billing info within my account. I do not need my hand held to do that and they are not nearly efficient enough to make it work.
Simple "problems". Accepting payments and organizing my business's incomes and expenses. It makes it very easy to keep track of it all and keep it clean and organized.
Being able to set up recurring invoices and not having to worry about sending invoices and reminders.
I think the app should have the same features as the site.
Client time tracking, and contact info. and Mostly billing concerns and revenue tracking.
I've been using Freshbooks for several years now, and I find it most helpful. I don't have to worry about tracking my expenses or my income. Freshbooks does that for me automatically! It's really amazing, especially at tax time when you need those important reports.
I do have to verify my expenses periodically. Though Freshbooks does a good job of choosing the categories for my expenses overall, I still have to go in and make sure that things are correct. Otherwise, at tax time, you will have to spend some time getting things into the correct categories.
I don't need an accountant. I can control all of my business finances using this one site. With more than 50 clients that are in Freshbooks, tough they aren't all active at once, you can see how this could turn into a mess. It doesn't. Freshbooks takes care of it all. I really love Freshbooks.
The layout and sewing of website makes it real simple to manage and create invoices
Everything works great plus they have costumer service.
Great benefits
Mobile app with receipt capture, invoices, customer support.
WePay - garbage. Just use Stripe if needed.
FreshBooks helps me manage multiple clients and projects super easily. Everything finance related to my business is done via FreshBooks and it's excellent. Well worth the value.
Freshbooks is super easy to use, very user friendly and budget friendly especially for new businesses. I love that I can input recurring expenses so that I don't have to input them each month. Also, running reports is an absolute breeze. Also, expenses that are recurring but not necessarily the same amount each time can be duplicated for ease of entry each time I need to input them. I can also duplicate an entry when I know that it is the same type of expense and then change the particulars, like the vendor or contractor name, the date of the work provided, as well as the amount. This makes it very easy to quickly and efficiently get the not fun task of accounting completed so that I can get back to the more fun work of the business itself. Reports "Item Sales" "Revenue by Client" "Invoice Details" "Expense Report" "Accounts Aging" "Payments Collected" "Sales Tax Collected" "Profit/Loss" "Time Entry" are very easy to run with different parameters like dates, clients, vendors, paid vs billed. etc. I love that team members can be added, although I tend to do all of this myself (a control issue for me that I need to give up) I anticipate that I will, very soon, wish to add team members so that others can add information as necessary. The fact that this is an option reassures me that when I am ready, I won't have to learn an entirely new and likely, more expensive system. The parameters that can be used to check reports, like expenses or invoices are very handy. I usually use this by setting specific date/time frames to get up to date information and this is accomplished very quickly as well. For instance, maybe I'm just looking for information regarding this quarter, or this month? Honestly I can't say enough good things about Freshbooks. I have suggested Freshbooks to friends and colleagues frequently. Being able to set up recurring expenses saves me an incredible amount of time and is very easy to use.
There really isn't much I can say that I don't like about Freshbooks. The "other income" section doesn't have a "duplicate" option like the expenses section does. I have cash payments which I enter in the "other income" section every month and it would be nice just to be able to duplicate that entry instead of having to recreate it from scratch. I have submitted a request for this and have been told that they appreciated my input and would be working on a solution. I really look forward to that becoming available soon. When creating an invoice it tends to want to add multiple lines, which I have to delete when I only have one line item to enter on that invoice. This isn't that big of an issue, but it would be nice if only one line initiated until I created another line.
When I need to send an invoice to a customer it is quick and easy. The customer then has multiple ways to make the payment through the invoice or outside the invoice. (I usually use PayPal, but there are internal alternatives.) Keeping track of expenses and invoicing customer has become a non-issue since getting Freshbooks. I am never worried at tax time since I can quickly run a report and I know that all of the information is there and updated. I find it very handy that I can upload my receipts to my expenses so that I don't have to keep a shoe box full of receipts. My accountant has also found this very helpful. I can run a Profit/Loss Report at any time
Being able to send good looking professional invoices to my clients
My business is small and the smallest subscription only allows 5 clients to invoice and even though my business is small I still have more than 5 clients but not enough to put the larger subscription in my budget
Keeping better track of income and expenses and achieving more prompt payments for completed work
As a small business owner with no accounting or business background, fresh books has been a blessing. It is easy to use, easy to understand, and their customer support is phenomenal!
Though my accountant had not used FreshBooks before, he was able to easily access it through the accountant link and also found intuitive and easy to use.
It is so easy to send invoices, receive payments, and track overdue invoices.
Easy to use format from time tracking to detailed invoicing they have been providing great accounting solutions since the beginning
only wish I had more accounting options on the smaller plan. just some basic accounting stuff like balance sheets.
i use it to keep my daily time sheets. love the time tracker extension for Chrome. I love how easy it is for me to track my time and invoice easily.
I like the ease of creating invoices that are easy to understand and simple to pay.
Sometimes I don’t like how the recurring invoices function.
Sending monthly invoices to my clients and receiving payments online.
