I love how easy it is to upload invoice file/ bills and pay/receive payment. Definitely has streamlined company operations. Additionally, the price to us cant be beat
Melio could use some improvements from an organization perspective. The filters are a little clunky and having some kind of built-in aging summary would be a huge help
Ability to accept ACH payments through an easy to use platform has made receipt of payment from clients extremely streamlined. Also, scheduling payments ahead of time and not having to worry about them after the fact has been a huge help
The ability to send reminders to clients
Limited only to b2b accounts. I wish it were possible to charge members of my co-op for monthly carrying charges.
Automates monthly payments and reminders. I'm no longer waiting for checks im the mail. I can see my clients have received notice.
We've moved over to paying most of our vendors over Melio and it helps us save nuts and bolts money (postage, checks, envelopes obv labor) but also keeps us more organized - schduling payment for invoices the day they come in.
Only issue we've had is in some UI stuff that could be better. Would be nice to be able to sort scheduled payments by $$$ amount, rather than just vendor and date.
Paying vendors simply and efficiently. We took over a business that was still mailing out paper checks and it has been, by far, the quickest/easiest change we've implemented.
They make it very easy to pay vendors and get paid from clients. Being able to schedule ACH payments for free is definitely of the big appeals and great for small businesses
There are some minor bugs in the webpage that can probably be resolved quicker. Woudl also be nice to have a tighter integration with Quickbooks like address information, invoices numbers and so on
Getting paid with ACH had typically been hard to do online. And especially something that can hook up with an accounting software like Quickbooks so it doesn't need to be entered manually each time
I enjoy Melio's multiple payment systems, including: ACH (with no fees) and Credit Cards (with fees going to the payer or the seller, myself).
I've encountered times where I've sent a payment link to a customer, and they had trouble with using it and paying for the services I provided. This had left the customer in an un-wowed situation which I had to alleviate personally by offering payment through Quickbooks instead.
Having one payment gateway for processing ACH payments without incurring fees has been super helpful; however, customers are less accustomed to Melio and are more accustomed to Quickbooks for payments, which requires an added step of explaining what Melio is and how it is benefitting both the seller and buyer.
Melio has helped us streamline our vendor payment process, so we can pay all our vendors through the same software regardless of if they prefer check or ACH payments. It's been helpful to view all payments we issue in one location.
Melio has been great for B2B payments, but it would be nice to also be able to use the software for B2C transactions like processing refunds.
Melio allows us to track all payments in one spot. This has helped us organize our accounts payable records, and easily review previously issued payments.
Easy to use, syncs with Quickbooks and has helped our company streamline some processes.
Pretty basic. Could be more extensive in the offering of features.
Bill payments to vendors, contractors, etc. Works well with our accounting software and has helped our company become more productive.
I find the easy payment to vendors as the best feature.
The reporting is limited. Without an Accounting software, it would be difficult to get information in a usable format for 1099 reporting.
Melio is helping us pay 1099s with little cost.
Quick and efficient. Easy to send payments directly.
Frustrating when pdf's will not display.
Removes one step from our work flow.
Simple interface, to automate payables with no transaction fees.
Works well for transactions within the United States but I've had problems processing payments to Canadian Contractors.
Payables with no transaction fees.
Scheduling payment and secure money payment
Time line for sending payment and the cut of timing.
Not needing to use check and running/ postage for the payment
Easy to use. The user interface is simple and effective.
The time it takes for payment to be delivered.
Helping us keep transactions separate among multiple entities.
The ability to make free ACH payments, integrated with QBO.
Certain interface features need improvement. There is no way to sort payments at all—this seems like a simple feature that should be implemented. Additionally, there is no way to batch 3 invoice payments to one vendor as one withdrawal from the bank account. It is always individual bank debits.
Melio has helped save countless hours of checkwriting and paper filing that was previously a large time waster. The benefit of paying vendors quickly and on time is outstanding.
Melio Saves me time writing checks as it can directly debit my account and send a paper check or ach payment to my vendor.
Melio now charges a 2.9% fee on debit and credit cards. They also charge $1.50 after the first 2 checks each month. It is also sometimes it is a little slow for US Mail to arrive to the recipient. Perhaps you could mail from multiple locations (ie, one on eastcoast and one on westcoast.)
I am able to pay my providers directly. It sends them an email so they know/trust that payment is on the way.
Easier than writing paper checks; scans and saves invoices clearing up our paper clutter; able to pay via diff sources and appear in one simple uncluttered web console
Support is very limited and if you have any payment issues good luck chasing people down to resolve lost or missing payments. We ended up dropping this tool after a couple serious issues - plus even simple ones, including inability to get help on validating a vendor address in their system so we could use their service to pay them!
In this virtual world handy to be able to manage AP on the go and also juggle minor invoices that easily get lost or ignored. Looking forward to scheduling automation for recurring bills.
