The web interface and visual voicemail. It is hard to believe that visual voicemail is not on every single phone out there (since it comes default with newer iPhones), but having this feature on a VOIP phone system is amazing. Intra-office and store calls, along with outside calls from customers and vendors, are seamlessly handled and easy to follow up with. All along with a web URL that allows for complete control and customization. We are extremely glad to utilize this.
The only con is that at times I clear out missed calls online, but it does not update on my desk phone. It has worked before, so it could just be a setting/hardware issue. Other than that it works great!
Controlling the ability to communicate both within an office and field environment while also interacting with calls from outside our company.
easy to control the phone system internally. Customer service is excellent when needed
when internet goes down there is no back up for phone, but oh well. Updated require each phone to be reset.
Costs savings was significant and easy to use in multiple locations.
Everything is in one place Voice, conf calls Salesforce intergation
a bit pricey, this has an added cost of busimess
Getting the info that I need
I like that you can choose what caller ID that shows you are calling from. Also that you can send texts from the program and keep your records.
The only thing I don't like is that the caller ID for the numbers that called do not show on the call log.
Using ring central for outbound calling for leads. It's nice to have my own personal account so that it's easier for my clients to contact me directly and leave or text me messages directly.
It goes where you go. From the office, app or desktop. It's a phone system for today's business.
I think that RingCentral over the year's has enhanced the product.
The need to be in constant contact and reachable at all times.
I like how easy it is to program extension settings. When I am away from the office, it is very simple to setup rules about when to forward to my cell. Also, I like how simple the compose fax feature is.
You cannot program extension settings in the desktop application, only the web portal.
I work remotely often and it is important that my customers are able to reach me when I am out of office. Ring Central allows me to be available anywhere.
TEXTING! My prospects are mostly young creative types that work at churches and non-profits, and they love that we can text for quick questions that don't really require a phone call. I also really like that I can access everything from the desktop and mobile apps so I always have the ability to call or text a prospect even if I"m out of the office
The user interface isn't the best, and from time to time calls will drop
Removing that clunky and unnecessary phone from my desk has been awesome! Also the ability to completely do my job from anywhere without needing to use my personal cell number
-Tons of features included in each plan -Easy to use admin portal -Reliable service and support
-Lack of local dial-in numbers for conference calls in many area codes -Doesn't work well with certain large scale fax machines
-Complete and easy control of phone system/IVR for all members of the team despite virtual office setup
I love the fact that you are able to switch office location from one area to another and have your phones back up and running in no time. Unlike some other phone companies who will take weeks to get a technician to come do your installation. RingCentral Supports an IVR (Automated system) that you can setup for your callers to choose different extensions etc. You an access your voice mails easily. You could even setup a mobile app that routes calls from your extension to you mobile phone just in case you have to be on the road.
RingCentral is not the cheapest solution to your phone problems so if you are strap for cash it might seem a little costly.
This has reduced the setup time are relocation. We did not have to wait an extended time to get our system up and running. It is VOIP (Voice Over IP) the need to have several phone lines from a phone company was not necessary.
Ability to add extensions for multiple staff members with the flexibility for each to set open hours, call forwarding to mobile, personalized greetings and vacation settings.
The menus are deep and knowing how and where to go can be difficult in the beginning.
Our staff was very mobile and not everyone had a desk. Ring Central allowed staff to receive calls no matter where they worked and to make calls via the app without exposing their personal phone number.
Ease of use, annual billing (forget about it for 11 months), remote setup of extensions, voicemails in my email. Reliable.
Setting up speed dials is a little cumbersome on RC phone, phone cycles out too quickly if I don't dial fast enough.
My staff is all remote; this is so simple to allow them to use their own lines, but be extensions on mine.
I love that I can transfer calls to someone even when they are several miles away!
The iPhone app can be glitchy when trying to text.
Being able to transfer calls to remote office staff, being able to share screens during a meeting, caller ID.
What I love about Ringcentral is that all the features they offer, actually work as expected. Too many times companies will advertise a feature, but then it ends up being only a half measure in practicality. This is saying something considering the amount of things you can do with a Ringcentral account. Call parking, forwarding, grouping, multi level IVR, etc. The control panel to set things up for both admins and individual users is also quite intuitive. Maybe a little overwhelming at first, but once you click around for 5 minutes, making changes exactly how you want them becomes natural. Changes are instant too. Which is great as you can test new call flows and features without worrying about taking your system down for an extended period of time. Their customer service is great as well. The reps are knowledgable and quick. I've only had to call in a couple of times, but I always felt satisfied. Never received any type of run around. They haven't had any noticeably outages, and VERY rarely does my call quality noticeably drop. When it does, it is never for more than a minute or so. Lastly, Ringcentral is clearly not just sitting around. Over the past couple years they've added some awesome features. Automatic call recording, meetings, conference calls, collaboration tools, business SMS.
Their base pricing for the Office line seems just a tad high. However, they do back it up with the features. Can't complain too much. Their control panel is very sluggish and desperately needs an update I think. On their conference call feature, when callers call in, they are greeted with a branded "Welcome to Ringcentral..." message. I strongly feel this is unprofessional and I should either be able to customize that conference call greeting or at the very least they should leave that greeting unbranded. Ringcentral's products currently do not support Linux at all. You can use Ringcentral with linux just fine as the dashboard is web based. However, I really would like an official Linux compatible SIP client or the full desktop app they have for Windows/Mac that allows SMS messaging, viewing faxes, etc. As a Linux user, right now I'm having to login to the slow dashboard to download faxes. I can have them be sent via email, but I find that a little cluttering. I wish we could send and receive the business SMS via the dashboard online rather than just the Windows app and mobile app. I wish they had a mobile app for BlackBerry 10 or if they spent just a few minutes and submitted the existing Android app to additional Android app stores like Amazon.
Ringcentral is a great way for a business of any size to have a separate business number and look professional. Automatic call recording has saved me tons of headaches when it comes to note taking during my calls. I can always go back and listen to things. The advanced rules allow me to really customize who can call me where and when. I use this to give certain clients and their phone numbers permission to ring me directly after hours. I also let certain clients go directly to voicemail every time. The phone system as a whole makes it very easy to give a great impression when people call. I hired a professional voice actor to do my prompts and am very happy with the image of my company when people call in.
Our company has been using RingCentral for approximately two years now. The service is reliable. We have only ever had a couple of situations where service was out for a short period of time, roughly an hour or so. I use a phone by Polycom that works tremendously well. I especially love the intercom feature and the transfer feature that allows me to give my colleagues a heads up on the call details before transferring the client through.
I have had an issue with technical support at RingCentral. A few days ago my RingCentral service was not working. My telephone displayed a message that the URL link was down and I was unable to get to www.ringcentral.com. Technical support, instead of helping me solve the problem, insisted the problem was with my ISP even though every other website I navigated to worked perfectly fine and my other VoIP system was working perfectly fine. My WiFi was also working fine and every other device connecting to it worked fine. The only thing that did not work was RingCentral's website and phone. I even tried accessing RingCentral through my iPad and I had no luck. RingCentral essentially refused to listen to me, saying that because they could access their own website, the problem wasn't on their end. I'm not a technical support specialist but it seemed rather like "passing the buck" to me and I wasn't impressed with how it was handled. Regardless, I spent time fiddling around with it myself and after numerous reboots of both my phone and modem, it worked just fine again.
The way our company is structured, all of our staff work out of their home offices. Without this system we would have no way of being able to handle client calls. It works very well for us and allows us all to do our jobs efficiently. Prior to having this system, we had a cell phone for each of the cities that we do business it. It cost us over $300 a month for that. RingCentral costs approximately $100 per month so we've seen substantial savings.
I find the software very user friendly, and easy for first time users to navigate
Seem so be little check boxes everywhere - if you don't check them (or un-check, as in my case) then the software won't perform as you anticipate.
We have a majority of our staff out visiting customers, but they still needed to be reachable. RingCentral allows us to transfer callers directly to all our staff regardless of where they are.
RingCentral is a provider who goes out of their way to provide top notch support. We've had a few small issues in the office where some people who aren't as tech savvy as they could be run into issues with using the conference line, but RingCentral support steps up (and quickly) to ensure that the users are able to utilize their features and understand the software to get the most out of it.
As far as dislikes go, the only real complaint I have with RingCentral are the actual desk phones themselves. My model, an HDVoice VVX410 features an auto-dial system where the phone starts to ring after a couple seconds of inactivity. I don't particularly like this, especially when I have to look up a cell phone number on a call sheet and it dials 4 digits into entering the number. There is no way to disable this.
RingCentral did allow our organization to have way more efficient conference calls and video conference capabilities than its' predecessor, go2meeting, did. We find it to be more user-friendly, and overall a better experience in terms of call quality and support from the software provider.
Extremely easy to use! Web meetings are a breeze to setup and phone calls are easy as well. I have ring central setup with my cell phone so I can get calls right to my cell if needed. very flexible
I haven't found many things I dislike. Sometimes the sound quality can be muffled.
Web meetings to help customers thru software issues and updates. I realized that I don't need a phone at work!!!
Very easy to set up and integrate with our business. Ability to forward calls to other lines, like cell phones, is easy. Mobile app works well, especially after recent upgrades. Instantly notifies me on my mobile if I have a voice message. Allows us to program phone #'s in local geographies even though we centrally manage all aspects of the service.
Mobile app was a little buggy at first. The iPhone app has gotten much better over time.
Easy to deploy VOIP service. Performing this capability via a hosted services has enabled us to remain very flexible for provisioning new numbers and allowing remote team members to have geographic exchanges that make sense while still allowing for internal call capabilities.
We had issues with functionality in our last cloud communications system. RingCentral has provided solutions to these issues and is a solid communications sytem.
We have not found any negative issues to date.
RingCentral is a solid cloud based communications system and has solved issues we previously had with another lcoud provider.
Used RingCentral almost daily for more than 1 year. I think it is a good communication tool when it comes to having baseline features for the team's connectivity and statuses. It can be easily integrated with other apps that enhance productivity.
It has less range of customization in terms of themes and moods when it comes to comparison with other such software in the market. The huddle feature is missing and the internal call feature is less user friendly
I think it serves the basic need for office communication. It is collaborative, which helps when it comes to having seamless and uninterrupted communication
