Our company is using Xero as an accounting software. We manage our bills and make expense claims through the software. I love how there is a dashboard that immediately gives you a picture of what you owe and what is owed to you. All our employees are able to use this.
Xero can be a bit tricky to use when filing claims. There are many fields that make it complicated. I have had to redo my expense claims several times over due to this fact.
Xero helps us with our accounting. Instead of developing an in-house solution, we can use this outsourced software.
Ease of use, quality of software. Integrations are a real bonus. Expenses module is also really good, although annoying it's an added service that you need to pay for. Ability to integrate Stripe into invoices so clients can pay online is nice. We use GoCardless to collect direct debit payments.
Paying for 'add ons' like expenses, projects, etc...
Time saving with reconciliation of bank spend
Integration with Receipt Bank and other apps Direct bank feeds Cloud based
High subscription fees There is no video helpline
Time savings I can access Xero accounts on my mobile
Simple user interface 2FA log in is included
Cannot map uploaded images to expense items
Submit work items to get compensation. Process is simple.
It's an cloud accounting software so I can access the software anywhere using my mobile phone, tablet etc.
Good internet connection is required and the subscription prices might be too high for some people.
Very easy to send invoices, quotes and bills. Time savings
Excellent integration with apps like Receipt Bank Cloud based
The software might be too expensive for some people
Time savings
Easy interface and easy to maintain bookkeeping without being too technical. Very good reports available live and retrospectively. Good bank reconciliation feature with bank feed feature making less work and errors less likely.
Retrospective posting into previous periods means that retrospective reports change eg the system is always live which can make it difficult for accountants at year end
Bank feed feature allows users to reconcile their bank on the system without having to manually tick against bank statements. I feel there are less errors this way although I have encountered messed up feeds
Xero is very intuitive and easy to use, especially for a smaller business. Simple to set up and get up and running, but also to get using - i.e. it's providing benefits to the business, especially through the integrations available.
Xero could not do subscription revenue, which is what I've used it for in the past. There are ways around it, but this was the big challenge I had in that it was just not built to take care of this.
Manage cash flow, track expenses, manage payroll, track accounts payable, track accounts receivable, have a holistic view of our company's finances.
I like how easy it is to run xero once it is set up. the fact that it runs alot of its controls from the bank statement makes the lives of the accountants really easy
As i run a small group of companies i dislike that it has no intercompany functionality
Quick and reliable financial reporting
-User friendly platform. -Gave you easy access to AP and A/R modules, bank reconciliation, manual journal entries, budget vs actual, balance sheet, and income statement.
-Limited options/programming for intercompany transactions. - Bank reconciliation can be tricky. You need to have a certain format .cvs and have to copy paste the content to the new sheet before the software can take it.
- Easy cloud based platform - User friendly - Price is relatively low for $ 30.00 per month
I like how simple it is to use and how clearly it lays out the information you need. You don’t need to spend long looking for anything - it just seems arranged in order of the way that you’d actually need it. Appearance-wise, it’s also very clean, which contributes to how simple it is to use. I also like the mobile app, as it's really easy to use and makes doing expenses very simple.
It’s hard to identify anything specifically as I’m actually really pleased with my experience on it. I only use it for the occasional expense and to check my payslips. It could perhaps benefit from email notifications when expense claims are approved or payslips come in.
It helps us make the expense process efficient and to do monthly pay rolls. It has managed to capture all the information finance needs while still making it easy for users.
Xero -I love the dashboard, custom reporting, and invoicing functions. The love he Bank feeds that provide real time data for accounts.
I don’t like that the mobile app doesn’t allow you to view existing invoices and it doesn’t allow you to run reporting functions.
Helping people get real time financial data
User friendly, pick up and use accounting system
Does do consolidation or more complex multicurrency functionality particularly well
Streamlined month end close
It’s so user friendly. It downloads and links the transactions to ones I’ve already accounted for.
I don’t know if I’ve found anything i don’t like. I’ve used other software and it just isn’t as easy as xero.
As money comes into my account I’m able to see it immediately and match the transactions.
Xero provides a very simple but effective dashboard that gives you a snapshot of your business’s financial position.
I’d like for Xero to incorporate some more visual reports and graphs with regards to cash flow - much like Quickbooks.
Our financial operation and awarenes of financial position. It’s helped with invoicing and expense tracking.
Easy to use reporting. Budgeting and expense tracking.
No live bank feeds with dbs business banking.
Benefits are built in budgeting reports. Problems being solved are integrating with other software.
The best thing about Xero has to be its ease of use. As a new business we didn't want a dedicated person doing our accounts. Xero handles everything for us from connecting to our bank to sending an managing invoices, we even have connected to our credit card service. As a business we spend a fraction of the time maintaining our accounts than in previous businesses.
Payroll has been a slightly challenging but we got there.
Has to be time but also anybody in the executive team can see immediately where we are on a day to day basis. Vital in a small company.
I like to Xero on my mobile to create invoices and receipts. It's quick and easy to attach the receipt photo so I don't have to keep the print copy. I can also see when a receipt has been approved for payment. It's a great tool for our company.
For the amount of use that I have, and the type of use, I can't fault anything.
We can give different access level to every employee, allowing them to launch their expenses without having to go through time consuming and clunky accounting systems.
Easy of use, reliable, great support, my accountant can access
More reports needed, including by not limited to an expense account report complete with receipts that can be printed.
none
I like Xero's cloud base accounting software - that I can log-in from anywhere.
Lack of inventory/job costing interactivity.
We are putting small businesses on Xero, especially those with younger owners who appreciate the cloud based nature.
